Sourced from the well-known Gifu Prefecture(岐阜県), Japan, the origin of Mino ware which has 1,300 years of history.

The shape of this matcha bowl is a waisted type, one of the most ergonomic and comfortable shapes to hold. It is similar to the half-cylindrical type bowls, easy to whisk, except for the 'waist', which gives the type the name. The groove part is the place to put fingers when whisking matcha or holding it while drinking with both hands.

In addition to the coarse bottom and heavyweight, it is great for matcha lovers to stabilise the bowl on any surface.

On the other hand, it is worthy to add to the collection for matcha lovers because of the beauty of the two-colour (amber yellow and salmon pink) combination of natural glaze on top of the handmade chawan(茶碗). These two colours also have different textures. The amber yellow is with a smooth glaze texture while the salmon pink has an earthy texture.

All??products are wholly handmade in Japan. Each piece is unique; slight?irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
